Hassett Glasser Law Firm, Phoenix AZ, October 2023
A few months ago, Myles Hassett purchased a bunch of my Irish photography prints. He used them to decorate the Phoenix law firm that he founded, Hassett Glasser. Paid my first visit yesterday post decoration and was absolutely blown away! More than my (biased) opinion, I was delighted to hear that the law firm gets many compliments from visiting clients. Further, Myles told me that the images have a calming effect, very important for a firm that does a lot of mediation work.
Artists in Arizona, September 2023
I am delighted to announce an exciting development in my life as an artist photographer. I am now part of the Artists in Arizona organization.
In addition to being featured in an upcoming book geared to the gallery and museum community, we are working on projects designed to elevate my visibility as an artist. Here’s the announcement:
Today we have the pleasure of welcoming new member & photographer, Tim H. Murphy to Artists in Arizona. Welcome Tim! @azeirefotog
Tim is a highly talented photographer who is dedicated to his craft and does all he can to capture a great photo. He has also overcome personal obstacles. His extensive body of work includes beautiful Irish landscapes, stunning Southwestern images, otherworldly lunar photographs, and portraits of Native American Pow Wows. But his story is unique and we’re going to share part of his bio and statement because he tells it best. So please read on…
“My relationship with photography came about as the result of a physical disability eleven years ago. It slowed me down considerably, but also offered me an opportunity to experience, capture, and present my world from a new perspective. “Thank you for sharing the things that we just don’t see,” are comments I often receive about my work. I started by photographing images of the places I knew best Ireland and Arizona.
Despite being mobility challenged, I go to great lengths to create compelling and unique images. I have navigated castle towers, lighthouses, and centuries-old abbeys. I’ve risen in the wee hours to photograph the moon and even chartered a fishing boat to snap a unique Irish castle, all while bobbing about in the North Atlantic Ocean!”
Since reinventing himself as a photographer eleven years ago, Tim Murphy’s work has been widely acclaimed and published nine photography books and in several exhibits and shows.
Tim was honored when his alma mater in Wisconsin recognized him with a lifetime award at 2022 commencement ceremonies for his inspirational life story revolving around his disability and reinvention as a photographer.
Thank you, Tim for joining Artists in Arizona! We are thrilled to share your beautiful work!
Please visit his portfolio page to see more of his photography.
